UDP seeks clarification from Chief Secretary

 SHILLONG: The UDP youth wing has sought a clarification from the Chief Secretary WMS Pariat on the ST status of Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and his brother Zenith Sangma, who is also a Cabinet Minister.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the UDP General Secretary, Shillong city youth wing, Danny Dunai said that in the light of the report of the tribal status of the ex-Congress Chief Minister of Chattisgarh A. Jogi, and also the recent reports regarding Dr Sangma and his brother, “we have been directed by the Executive Committee of the party which met recently to seek clarification on the matter, so as to dispel confusion and also in the interest of transparency of persons holding such high public offices”.
