Survey

The Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, Shillong, is conducting a performance review on tourism activities in Meghalaya. In this connection, an online Meghalaya Tourism Satisfaction Survey is being hosted on the office website from July 26, 2013 to September 26, 2013. Individuals wishing to participate in the online survey should go to the link agmegh.cag.gov.in/tourist/fillsurvey.aspx or www.agmegh.cag.gov.in

Clarification

The Meghalaya State Lok Jan Shakti Party has sought clarification from the National Commission for Backward Classes as to why Meghalaya has been excluded from the central approved list of OBCs as this tantamount to denial of the Constitutional rights to the resident of Meghalaya. The party has also shot off a letter to the Commissioner in this regard.

Unclaimed body

Police on August 12 found one unknown person (45) who was lying at Rapsang Parking lot, Mawlonghat but he expired a day later after he was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital for treatment. His relatives are requested to visit the hospital for identification.

The WAY, a socio cultural and educational association of youth (R&R Colony, Shillong) will organise the Jhulan Jatra Utsav in the community hall (R&R Colony, Shillong) on August 21.

Meeting

The annual general meeting of Laban Assamese Namghar to constitute a new committee will be held on August 25 at 3:30 pm on the Namghar premises. The meeting will discuss preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
