SHILLONG: Following reports of possible manipulation in the selection of candidates for the vacancies to the post of nurses in the State, the Meghalaya Government Nursing Service Association (MGNSA) on Tuesday said that it is still looking forward to a fair selection of the candidates.

The Association also thanked the government for accepting its request to form a Selection Committee which would recommend the candidates. 811 candidates have applied for 180 vacant posts. A written examination was conducted on August 10 to shortlist candidates for the personal interview. However, according to sources, the declaration of result of the same has been delayed due to alleged ministerial interference.
