Body found
lOn August 20 at around 11:30 pm, one Subarson Rangslang (40) was found lying at Garikhana with head injuries. He was shifted to CH Shillong.
lOn August 18, one Teibor Thongni (40) was found lying at Laitumkhrah Bazar. He was removed to CH Shillong where he died on August 19.
Apprehension
lOn August 20 at around 12:30 am, VDP Members apprehended one Biras Das from the shop of one Kwirbat Sohlang at Nongstoin Market (WKH) and recovered twelve bottles of cough syrup from his possession.
lOne P K Lakiang lodged a complaint that on August 19 at around 8:15 pm, he apprehended one Teibor Lyngdoh Nongpiur while he was attempting to steal iron rods from his residence at Boyce Road, Laitumkhrah.
Theft
lOn August 19 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-04A-3386) belonging to Mariabiang Lyngdoh from Khimmusniang, Jowai (WJH). On August 20, Police recovered the stolen motorcycle from Phramer (WJH). In this connection, one Kitbok Kassar (22) was arrested.
lShandra Warlarpih lodged a complaint that on August 19 at around 3.30 pm, she received an SMS that Rs. 10,000 had been withdrawn from her account. Later, she found her ATM Card missing from her bag.
Assault and threatening cases
lOn August 17 night, two persons, Salam Sheikh and Montu Das assaulted and abducted one Monirul Mandal from his house at Borsibandaps Phulbari (WGH) in a Bolero vehicle. On August 18, his wife namely Meera Kazi received a call from Montu Das demanding Rs. 10 lakh and threatened her with dire consequences.

Infiltrators nabbed
The BSF sleuths of Bagli outpost in South West Khasi Hills on Tuesday apprehended three Bangladeshi illegal immigrantswhile they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. The arrested Bangladeshis have been identified as Sojen Hajong, Noyen Hajong and Mikhail Sonal, all hailing from Mynmensigh district of Bangladesh.
