SPL to start from Sep 2

SHILLONG: The new season of the Shillong Premier League will start from September 2, it was announced by the secretary of the Shillong Sports Association, B Diengdoh, on Sunday.

The first match will see Rangdajied United FC take on MLP Football Team at the JN Sports Complex, Polo.

Before the match the SSA will present a memento to Rangdajied to congratulate the team for qualifying for this the upcoming I-League season.

The Association has also taken a few decisions that will affect the coming SPL.

Ticket rates were announced at Rs 20 for the open gallery, Rs 50 for the covered gallery and Rs 100 for the VIP gallery.

Each team in the division will be able to register 35 players during the year.

Additionally, M Shangpliang and P Marngar, both retired national referees, will be referee assessors for the remaining matches of the SSA.
