SHILLONG: BJP East Khasi Hills district president, Seiborlang Marbaniang, has downplayed reports that the Mylliem Mandal of the party is pressing for the removal of Dipayan Chakraborty from the post of general secretary.

“When the BJP District unit is yet to constitute the Mylliem Organizational Mandal after I took over as the district president, how can the so called organization in Mylliem exist?” he questioned.

While backing Chakraborty, the district president has reposed his full confidence on the president of the State Executive committee.

Meanwhile, the State general secretary (in-charge organization) of the party has officially conveyed the decisions of the last state executive committee to the district presidents in the State to constitute all the polling stations or booth level committees effectively under their districts.

Khlur Sing Lyngdoh, after taking over as a state president in April last year, has nominated eleven district presidents out of the thirteen organizational districts.
