Stop hunting MPUF leaders: JSU, JYF

 JOWAI: After the arrest of the president of the Meghalaya People’s United Front (MPUF) and launched a hunt for other members of the Front, for illegally apprehending 93 outsiders and punishing them, the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) and the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) has asked the police to immediately stop hunting for other MPUF members.

“If the police does not stop hunting for other leaders of the MPUF, we will take our own course of action,” the JYF and JSU stated in a joint press statement issued here.

It may be mentioned here that the MPUF had detained 93 outsiders, mostly Muslims, recently and after they failed to produce valid documents to prove their identity, the MPUF members took them to its office and punished them and later sent them back to Assam.
