Indore girl to compete for Miss Universe pageant

the Miss Diva 2013 competition, will now represent India at the Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to take place in Moscow Nov 9.

The Miss Diva 2013 finale, held here Thursday night, saw 14 finalists, including Moghe, competing against each other to win the title, and join the list of names like Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Juhi Chawla, Neha Dhupia and Gul Panag who represented India at the international beauty pageant.

Mansi was crowned Miss Diva 2013, while Gurleen Grewal and Srishti Rana were declared runner-up and second runner-up, respectively, said a statement.

“The finalists are already winners in their very own right and they have demonstrated towering levels of flair in the first year of Miss Diva. I am confident that the wealth of talent will only accentuate in the coming years. I wish the girls all the very best and may the best girl win,” said Marc Robinson, director, Miss India Organisation.

The finalists were judged by a string of well-known names from showbiz – Zeenat Aman, Raveena Tandon, Malaika Arora Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kasbekar and former Miss Canada Sahar Biniaz.

Radio Jockey Mantra and actor Vivan Bhatena played perfect hosts for the evening.

Earlier, I AM She – Miss India Universe, started in 2010, sent its winner to the Miss Universe pageant. In 2010, Femina Miss India relinquished its exclusive right to send the representative to Miss Universe, and, Tantra Entertainment Private limited, in collaboration with former Miss Universe and popular Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, organised the pageant in the same year.

After the 2012 Miss Universe Pageant, Sushmita and Tantra Entertainment announced that they were relinqui-shing the licence for Miss Universe. (IANS)
