State karatekas to take part in national c’ship

SHILLONG: The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association will send 16 karatekas to participate in the All India Karate-Do Federation National Karate Championship, which will be held in New Delhi from September 11-13.

The team will be led by coach Banshanlang Kharumnuid, assistant coach Minsong Rymbai and manager Ksan Kupar Warjri.

The winners in the cadet and junior categories at the Championship will be selected to represent India in the World Championship, to be held in Guadalajara, Spain, from December 5-10.

The quarterfinalists in the senior categories will qualify for the 35th National Games, to be held in Kerala.

Karatekas: Damangshwa Manik Syiem, Pynshngain Shangdiar, Arkinsanbhalang Mynsong, Rodrickstar Syiem, Glikerius Buhphang, Lumborlang Lyngdoh Mawphlang, Sandeep Chanda, Raphael S Sunn, Ronald Lyngdoh Nonglait, Andrew Hahshah, Raymond Kurbah, Edilbert Lyndem, Mlenkir Suting, Allister Kharwanlang, Banylla Shallam and Ester Mary Lyngdoh.
