SHILLONG: Peacestar L Nonglait, president of NEHU Student’s Union (NEHUSU) has apologized for not taking the consent from the executive members of the Union before issuing the press note regarding the infrastructure facilities of NEHU.

Referring to the statement issued by Nonglait on September 4, demanding better infrastructure, he clarified that the information about the last two Vice Chancellors who have destroyed the basic services available to the students in general and the hostellers in particular was given by Prof. Prasenjit Biswas, Dept. of Philosophy, NEHU.

“I apologize for misusing my power without proper procedures. As a matter of fact the hostellers went for an agitation for redressal of the hostel problems and ultimately had a mutual understanding with the NEHU administration not to go to the press until their demands were met,” Nonglait added.
