South West Khasi Hills football tournament concludes

SHILLONG: A hat-trick from Brantisroy Lyngkhoi helped Kynshliah UP School defeat Iaidshaphrang MP Org 5-0 in the boys’ final of the South West Khasi Hills Block Level Under-12 Football Tournament (Mawkyrwat Block), held at the Saitsnad Playground in Mawlangwir on Wednesday.

Omega Lyngkhoi scored the other two goals to make it a convincing victory for the Kynshliah team.

The girls’ final between Sakwang SC and Jakrem SC ended 0-0 after full time, but the former came through the tie-breaker 2-1 to lift the trophy.

PB War Nongbri, the District Sports Officer for West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills, informed through a press release that 48 boys and girls have been chosen from each district to attend a coaching camp in October for consideration for their respective district teams.

The coaching camps will be held in Nongstoin and Mawkyrwat.
