Sit-in demonstration

SHILLONG: The KSU Laban and Nongthymmai circles have extended support to the sit-in demonstration called by two women organizations – the Khasi Women Welfare and Development Association (KWWDA) and the Civil Society Women’s Organization (CSWO) at the Additional Secretariat Parking Lot on September 25 from 11 am to 3 pm.

The two women organizations have called a sit-in-demonstration on Wednesday to protest against the adamant attitude of the government in implementing the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State despite the positive recommendations of the High Level Committee on Influx constituted by the State Government.

Seeking support for the sit-in demonstration, the KSU units have urged the general public to participate in the dharna to pressurize the State Government to implement the ILP in the State to check influx and entry of illegal migrants.
