The Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union, Reformist Students Union, Nepali Sahitya Parishad , Gorkha Students Union said due to non holding of elections benefits under various schemes were not reaching the five GPs.

The villagers moved the High Court which has ruled that elections be held. The authority has not decided to conduct elections so far. If the government fails to conduct elections the three organisations threatened to launch a stir.
