Mawthadraishan tournament concludes successfully

SHILLONG: Three schools shared the team trophies at the multi-discipline Inter-School Tournament (Mawthadraishan Block), which was held from September 24-25.

Nongkasen Presbyterian Secondary School won the boys and girls badminton team events, along with the girls volleyball title.

They finished runners-up in boys volleyball, girls kho-kho and boys handball.

Boys handball was won by Kynshi Hr Secondary School, who also won boys and girls kho-kho and boys kabaddi.

Their girls kabaddi team finished second and the school was also second best in girls volleyball and handball.

St Joseph Sec School, Nongkasen, claimed the girls handball, girls kabaddi and boys volleyball titles, while coming second in boys kabaddi.

In the individual badminton events, St Joseph’s Deisngi Marshangbai and Medarika Lyngkhoi won the boys and girls titles, respectively.

Barishawel Syiemlieh and Kyrpanghun Syiemlieh finished second in boys and girls badminton. Both students belong to Kynshi UP School, who also did not win a team title, but came runners-up in boys kho-kho.
