New arrangements on Mawlai-Polo route for 4 days from Saturday

SHILLONG: The Shillong Traffic Branch has made changes on the Mawlai-Polo route on a trial basis for four days with effect from September 28 to ensure smooth flow of traffic in these heavily-congested areas of the city.

Under the new arrangement, the Traffic branch has declared as No Parking Zone the entire stretch of the road from the Bus Stand Junction of Mawlai Phudmuri up to the junction of the approach road leading to Mawlai Mawroh.

The stretch from Lad Madan Heh (Fuller’s Ride) up to Mawlai Nongmali Junction has been declared as a one way road. Parking of light motor vehicles will be allowed only on one side of the road along this stretch.

Vehicles proceeding to IGP have been allotted a stand at Mawlai Nongmali-1 near the Bus Shed. Vehicles are not allowed to park at the junction at Nongpathaw Sub Station.

For Polo, the Traffic branch has mentioned that there will be a ‘No Right Turn’ towards Lawmali Junction and vehicles have to take a turn from the BSNL Junction via Hotel Polo Towers.
