Senior Citizens’ Week observed

As a part of the observation of Senior Citizens’ Week, Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak accompanied by Social Welfare Director HM Shangpliang and other officials paid a visit to Mercy Home at Demthring on Thursday. She also distributed blankets to the inmates of the Mercy Home.

Grand finale

St. Edmund’s College, Shillong, will celebrate its grand finale of college week on October 5. Shillong MP Vincent Pala will be the chief guest.

Competition

Laban Assamese Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong organized a Mental Mathematics Competition and an Inter-school Quiz competition on Mathematics (Laban Zone) on October 1 on the school premises. Altogether nine schools participated in the Quiz competition. Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School bagged the 1st prize in the Quiz while Shishu Mandir and Raid Laban Secondary School were placed in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Congratulation

The All Meghalaya Primary School Teachers’ Association (AMPSTA) has congratulated the government for launching the Student Digital Learning Aid Scheme and distributing mobile tablets to all the Class XII students. The Association said this is a unique programme that will encourage the students in pursuing their higher studies with technical assistance and innovation giving them the state-of-the-art learning experience.

Pre-Durga Puja

The Monitoring cum Implementation Committee, Greater Laban, organised a pre-Puja Get together of Harmony and also to mark the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the Community Hall of the Raid Laban Sports Social and Cultural Organisation, Kench’s Trace on Wednesday.

Lady Keane College will felicitate the meritorious students during the Grand Finale of the Annual College Week on October 9 at 10 am in the College Auditorium.
