SHILLONG: Royal Wahingdoh FC extended their winning run in the Shillong Premier League to five games with a 2-0 victory over Langsning FC at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Tuesday.

The reigning SPL champions disposed of Langsning courtesy goals from Reagan Singh, who was named Man-of-the-Match, and Ennio Silva.

Although Langsning played attacking football and had a good share of possession, their players made a few mistakes that stopped them from creating real chances to score.

Wahingdoh have thus ended the first stage of the SPL with 16 points from seven matches, having won five games, drawn one and lost one.

They have reinforced their second place position in the standings, behind Rangdajied United FC, who have 18 points from six games.

Langsning have yet to really get their campaign going despite the obvious talent within their ranks.

Out of their seven games, Langsning have earned seven points with two wins, three draws and two losses.

They lie fourth in the points, with Malki breathing down their necks on eight points from five outings.

There will be no SPL action on Wednesday and Thursday because of the Shillong Lajong FC and Rangdajied United I-League matches.
