FKJGP, KSU men held in arson case

SHILLONG: Police on Thursday arrested two members of the pro-ILP groups – FKJGP assistant information secretary Reginald Thabah (32) from Kyrbom, Lower Mawprem, and KSU member Simon Myrthong from Donkamon, Nongmynsong.

According to police, Thabah was arrested while he was moving in an ambulance belonging to the FKJGP (ML05 J 3341) on Thursday night in disguise, ostensibly to commit some crime. He was remanded in police custody for eight days while the ambulance was seized.

KSU member Myrthong was arrested while he was pelting stones at JC Construction, Nongmynsong, at around 10.30 pm on Thursday.

Myrthong, who is wanted in some earlier arson cases, was remanded in police custody for four days.
