SHILLONG: Meghalaya school OM Roy Mem HSS will take on Magurmari High School, Assam, in the grand finale of the under-17 boys Subroto Cup football tournament in New Delhi on Saturday.
The U-17 girls and U-14 boys teams from Meghalaya were impressive in their own right, but bowed out in the semifinals and quarterfinals of their respective events.
OM Roy, meanwhile, have beaten five teams on their road to the final – three in the group stage, along with two knock-out games.
The Meghalaya team have had a long rest; their semifinal was played on October 12, while Assam played out their last-four match only on Thursday.
In that game, Magurmari HS defeated Rev Saiaithanga Memorial School, Mizoram, 1-0.
