SHILLONG: After an unsuccessful attempt to get justice from the Chief Judicial Magistrate here on October 3, CM Jha, the controversial chancellor of CMJ University, has disappeared again after appearing before the CID just for a few hours on the same day.

After the State Government challenged the interim bail of Jha, he approached the Chief Judicial Magistrate, B. Joshi in Shillong on October 3.

His effort to get justice went in vain as the court refused to pronounce any verdict on the plea since the matter had been pending before the Supreme Court and the case was still being investigated by the CID.

The CID did not get any satisfactory reply from Jha when he appeared on October 3, sources said, adding that during the previous interrogations too the Chancellor was not cooperating with investigating officer.

Earlier on September 21, Jha wrote a letter to the CID expressing his inability to be present for the investigation saying that his wife was sick in Bihar which, however, was turned out to be false after an investigation was carried out by the police in Bihar.

Moreover, in the name of appearing for the case in Delhi Jha did not report to the CID on October 5, 6 7 and 8 though these dates were fixed by the investigating officer.

The Supreme Court lawyer Ranjan Mukherjee recently accused Jha for not cooperating with the CID by way of avoiding any direct question.

The Supreme Court granted interim bail to Jha with a condition that he should co-operate with the investigating officer of the CID.

The case related to his interim bail will be heard on October 28 in the Supreme Court.
