NONGSTOIN: The MDC of Nongstoin, accompanied by local leaders of Nongstoin, inspected the road condition of Nongstoin area for the forthcoming Synod Sepngi which is due to take place early next year.

Accompanying the MDC Nongstoin, L G Nongsiej, were leaders of the Presbyterian church of New Nongstoin, Executive Engineer PWD (Roads) Y Laloo and SDO Nongstoin Division 1 S Kurbah. The roads within the township area was first inspected followed by the bridge connecting Upper New Nongstoin and Tiehsaw Village and the stretch between Ladweitang and Tiehsaw.

They observed that the road within the township area was in desperate need for repair.

The bridge between Tiehsaw and Upper New Nongstoin was also incomplete for many years and was causing a lot of hardship of the people living on either side especially Tiehsaw. The road between Tiehsaw and Ladweitang was also in an isolated condition and needed repair works.

The group also visited the venue of the Synod Sepngi at Nondein in Nongstoin. Plans on the construction of the pandal and other amenities were chalked there.

They also saw that the road between Nongston and Nongpyndeng was in a very bad condition and needed urgent repair work. Thousand of believers would be expected ) to commute from Maweit and other areas during the Synod Sepngi and would use this stretch for about four to five days in a stretch.

The MDC and the others asked the EE PWD (Roads) and the SDO to take up the matter as thousands of believers would be attending the Synod Sepngi and traffic along these roads would be very high and a good road would ensure smoother flow of traffic.

The EE PWD (Roads) assured that the repair works for the roads would be taken up very seriously and would be completed before the Synod Sepngi.
