Troubled star Lindsay Lohan is being sued following her infamous car accident last year. The 27-year-old Mean Girls star hit a semi-truck with her Porsche while driving up the California coast to shoot ‘Liz And Dick in June 2012.
And now the truck driver James Johnson is suing the actress for unspecified damages, claiming to have suffered both mental and physical trauma due to the collision.
Police at the time found copious amounts of incriminating evidence with Lohan’s black Porsche 911S.
Items discovered in the star’s purse and trunk included prescription pills and and a water bottle that smelled suspiciously of alcohol.
At the time of the accident Lohan allegedly told police her assistant Gavin Doyle was driving her Porsche when it crashed into the semi.
But it later was established by authorities that she was in fact the one behind the wheel. Lohan was arrested for reckless driving and lying to the police when she allegedly claimed that it was Gavin who was driving the car, not her. In March this year, Lohan accepted a plea deal in the misdemeanour car crash case that included 90 days in a rehabilitation facility. The actress pleaded no contest to reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing officers who were investigating the accident involving the actress in June. She was sentenced to 90 days in rehab, 30 days of community labour and 18 months of psychological therapy. (PTI)
