Guwahati: A week long vigilance awareness program was observed by Border Security Force at Guwahati Frontier and at all of its Units and Sector Headquarters from October 28, which concluded today, on the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi.
The observance of the week commenced by administration of Vigilance Pledge by Rajesh Kumar Gurung, Commandant (P), Officiating DIG/PSO, a BSF release said here.
While administering the pledge, he said, ‘The objective of this week is to reaffirm our commitment to fight against unethical practices, blatant violation of systems and procedures, corruption prevailing at our work places.’
He emphasized the need for creating awareness on governance in the Force.
He also briefed the personnel about the week-long programme.
All the staff in the headquarters took a pledge to ‘continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres of our activity, work for eradication of corruption in all spheres of life, remain vigilant and work towards growth and reputation of the organisation, bring pride to the organisation through collective efforts and provide value-based service to our countrymen, do our duty consciously and act without fear and favour’.
The week-long programme was observed by displaying banners, slogans and posters on anti-corruption at prime locations.
A lecture on the subject of ‘Good Governance: Transparency and Fairness’ was delivered by Mukul Saikia, SP(L) of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam on November one.
Competitive debates, lectures and essay competition on anti-corruption topics were organized among the BSF personnel today.
