Teacher training workshop concludes

SHILLONG: The ten-day National level teacher training workshop, ‘Our Cultural Diversity’ organized by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, New Delhi concluded here at State Central Library with as many as 116 participants from all over the country.
As many as 116 teachers from the length and breadth of the country participated in this workshop where they were given a chance to interact with each other besides learning about each ones culture.
Experts in the field of education, arts and culture and nature who were present as resource persons on this day highlighted on the need to develop and uplift the education scenario in the region and the country as a whole.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Director of the Directorate of Arts and Culture, MW Nongbri stressed on the need to develop a sense of unity in diversity and a peaceful environment. She also lauded the organizers for organizing such a diverse programme while assuring co-operation in the future ventures.
On this day, participants were also presented with certificates and memento. The programme was scheduled to start from October 21 but due to the two-day bandh on October 21 and 22, the workshop commenced on October 23 and ended on Thursday.
