Talk

History Prof Mesbah Kamal, Dacca University; Chairperson, Research & Development Collective (RDC) and Secretary General, National Coalition for Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) will deliver a talk on “North-East India: A Bangladeshi Cultural Viewpoint” in a “Confluence Evening” at the conference hall of the Asian Confluence on Saturday evening at 6pm. The talk will follow a musical rendition by Zannat-e-Ferdousi, noted singer from Bangladesh.

Meeting

A condolence meeting cum cultural function will be organised by Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban in memory of Great Manna Dey. The programme will be held at the Club’s premises on November 10 and will commence at 6pm.

Clarification

Apropos the news item ‘NEEPCO staff face attempt to rape charge’ (Shillong Times, November 6), the NEEPCO authorities have clarified that none of its employees was involved in the case, in which three persons attempted to rape a minor girl at Thiedding village under Mawsynram PS on Sunday last.
