One held for assault on pregnant lady

SHILLONG: Sohra Police on Wednesday arrested one person identified as Kitborlang Kharsyntiew (25) for assaulting one Denalda Diengdoh (37) who has been reported to be pregnant. Later, she was admitted Ganesh Das Hospital for treatment

SDPO Sohra Ian Swer said that Police arrested the accused based on an FIR which was lodged by the mother of the victim at Tyllap Outpost under Shella Police Station hat an assault took place on November 4.

He said that the accused has been forwarded to court.

In another case, Sohra police on Wednesday arrested one Raja Shadap from Sohra market.

SDPO Sohra Ian Swer said that he was arrested for allegedly threatening Thonbor Wahlang Sirdar of Mawthang Wahlong Village.

He said that on October 24 person Raja Shadap came to his house and threatened to hurt him if he was not allowed to stay in the quarter of PHE which is located Wahlong village. Later on October 31 again, Raja Shadap came to Sohra Bus stand and said to the conductor of bus ML 05 E 2454 and told him to pass the message to Sirdar that he will kill him if he comes to Shillong. The arrested person has been forwarded to court.
