Govt yet to make decision public

SHILLONG: Even after the submission of the report of High Level Scrutiny Committee (HLSC) on education scam since July 29, the State Government is yet to make public the decision to appoint eligible candidates, which the department has already been taken.

The HLSC report had suggested the Government to appoint the eligible candidates and terminate the services of those got jobs through recommendations of various ministers, MLAs and former legislators and also by way of tampering of mark sheets of the candidates.

Interestingly as per the report of the CBI which probed the scam, the Deputy Chief Minister in charge Education RC Laloo had recommended maximum number of 37 candidates to be appointed as Government teachers followed by the recommendation another minister Sniawbhalang Dhar to appoint another 30 candidates . Other ministers in the cabinet who recommended the names include Prestone Tynsong (20) and AL Hek (7).

Laloo on Wednesday said that a decision has already been taken on the recommendations of the report of HLSC.

However, he did not disclose the exact reason why there is a delay in making public the decision.

Recently the Chief Secretary WMS Pariat followed by the Principal Secretary Education, PK Srivastava also said action will follow soon, but in vain.
