SCA releases jubilee fixtures

SHILLONG: The Shillong Cricket Association (SCA), which is celebrating its platinum jubilee during 2012-13, has announced the fixtures for its Platinum Jubilee T-20 Cricket Tournament.
The competition will begin on November 25 and will run until December 7 at Polo Grounds.
Ten Super Division teams, three district teams and four sides from the North East and Kolkata will take part for the Cup and cash award, besides other honours, it was announced through a press release on Wednesday.
The tournament will be held on a knock-out T20 format.
The SCA has also approached some ex-Indian players to be present on the final day besides other dignitaries from the state, the BCCI and others.
The four teams from outside the state are from Nagaland, Manipur, Guwahati Combined Club and Kolkata Club.
These four teams have received direct entry to the quarterfinals, which will be held on December 4-5.
The two semifinals will be contested on December 6 with the final on the following day.
The first match of the Qualifying Round will be between Aurobindo CC and Riatsamthiah S&SC on November 25 at 9am.
Two matches will then be held on November 26 – Royal CC vs TNT Sputnik at 8am and All Jaintia Cricket Association vs Malki SC at 11:30am.
November 27 will witness Lawmali S&SC go up against Miracle CC Garo Hills at 8am.
UBCC Ri-Bhoi District will face Nongthymmai S&SC on November 28 at 11:30am.
Three teams from the state have received byes to the second round of qualifying – United XI CC, NFU CC and Malki CC.
