NONGSTOIN: Nongstoin Police have arrested three persons for allegedly assaulting the in-charge of Maweit PHC Dr Gautam Singh on Saturday last.
Informing this here on Monday, S Nongtnger, SP, West Khasi Hills, said police arrested the trio — Robert Riangshiang, Marsiar Puwein, Sio Puwein – on Monday morning. The fourth accused — Johnmilton Puwein – surrendered later in the day.
Shot dead: Meanwhile, two unidentified miscreants armed with pistol went to the shop of one Dilip Das (50) at Lailad (SWKH) and demanded money from the shop owner on November 22 at around 3pm. On his refusal, the miscreants shot him dead.
