Mapusa (GOA): Bengaluru FC defeated Salgaocar 2-1 in an exciting I-League fixture played at the Duler Stadium here on Tuesday.

Bengaluru FC scored in each half through former Shillong Lajong FC player John Menyongar (in the 21st minute) and Beikhokhei Beingaichho (in the 57th minute) to clinch the thriller.

Salgaocar, although failing to convert a penalty in stoppage time, pulled one back through Gilbert Oliveira in the 23rd minute.

The win takes Bengaluru FC to 18 points from 10 matches, the same as the Goans, but Salgaocar are still ahead on a better goal difference. (PTI)
