KSU slams govt over EJH road condition

SHILLONG: The KSU, Khliehriat circle has slammed the State Government for its alleged indifference in addressing the transportation owes of the people of East Jaintia Hills district who have to suffer on account of the pathetic road conditions in the area.

East Jaintia Hills is among the worst affected districts in the State as far as road condition is concerned and the menace is no alien even to the highway (NH 44) from Tuber-Sohshrieh till Malidor bordering Assam.

“The lackadaisical attitude of the state government only reflects its lack of interest in ensuring stress free transportation to the people,” KSU Khliehriat circle general secretary, C Suja said.

“It is a matter of shame for the district as most of the MDCs, MLAs and even the MP are from this area,” Suja added.
