SHILLONG: The Fourteenth Finance Commission has made a serious blunder when it stated that the commission also interacted with representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions apart from Political parties etc. The blunder was committed by the secretary of the commission Secretary AN Jha.
Panchayati Raj Institutions do not exist in Meghalaya since the State falls under the sixth schedule.
