SHILLONG: The GSU has said that the allegation that the student’s body is facilitating illegal timber trade to Assam is not correct.

The GSU president Bajengdoba unit Justin Marak in a statement issued here said that as per rules and regulation of the Union, no member can engage in supplying timber from Bajengdoba .

“But we heard some traders are supplying timbers at night time secretly and we have already informed Forest and Police departments to keep a watch on these timber traders”, the GSU leader said.

Marak also said those guilty should be arrested.
