Maoists kill four CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Four CRPF jawans were killed and as many injured when Naxals ambushed a road opening party (ROP) of the security forces in Maoist-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, police said.  The incident took place in the forest between Murkinar and Cheramungi village in Modakpal area on Wednesday morning, additional director general of police (Naxal Operations) R K Vij told PTI. The ADG said the ROP of the paramilitary forces was clearing the Murkinar-Cheramungi road as CRPF officials were going for some civic action programme in the region. While the ROP was heading towards their destination, Naxal opened indiscriminate firing on them killing four troopers of the CRPF 168 battalion on the spot, he said. Four other CRPF troopers have also been injured in the attack, an official said. (PTI)

Man held for doing job in place of his brother fraudulently

Deoria: A man was caught doing job in place of his deceased brother as an assistant teacher for 14 years in this Uttar Pradesh district. Vijay Pratap Singh, the complainant and resident of Gauri Bazaar area, said that one Surendra Kumar Sharma was elected in special BTC in 1999. After few days, Surendra died in a road accident. His brother Ramananad started doing job in the name of the deceased in a primary school in Rudrapur development block. The sub-divisional magistrate has submitted the report to Basic Shiksha Adhikari M A Ansari. (UNI)

10 Pak nationals apprehended on Indo-Nepal border

Lucknow: Security personnel have apprehended ten Pakistani nationals, including a woman and seven children, when they were trying to sneak into India from Nepal through Sonauli border in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh. Seema Sukraksha Bal(SSB) officials today said the group of ten people was stopped by SSB and local police and detained them after they failed to produce valid documents about their identity and entry into India. Later, however, they were sent to Delhi under police security.The apprehended people were from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) and informed the officials that they wanted to avail the facilities of the new Rehabilitation policy (2010) of the Jammu and Kashmir government in which they could be rehabilitated in Jammu and Kashmir.
