SHILLONG: NFU defeated Nongthymmai by 58 runs in the NEC Platinum Jubilee Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament at the Cricket Ground, Polo here on Friday.
After winning the toss, NFU rode on steady knocks by Purojit Mondal (40) and opener Raj Biswa (30) to post a competitive 128/7 in 20 overs. Andrew Ropmay was the pick of the bowlers for Nongthymmai grabbing three wickets of his four overs. In reply, Nongthymmai were bundled out for 70 runs of 15.3 overs. Gautam Raghuwanshi scalped four wickets for 14 runs of his four overs to make victory a mere formality for NFU.
