SHILLONG: The KSU Laban Circle has condemned the arrest of the members of the circle by the police and stated that the charges leveled against them were based on mere speculation without any concrete proof.
In a statement issued by the president of KSU Laban Circle Manly Nongpluh, the arrest of KSU Lawsohtun unit general secretary Readystone Nongrum along with another member of the unit, Shemphang Nongkynrih, for their alleged involvement in the Bishnupur arson case, is uncalled for.
“The arrests were made based on mere speculations and the police have nothing to prove that the duo had committed the crime, so to pick someone up and implicate them in some cases is very unprofessional and it further creates a sense of anguish among the people,” Nongpluh said.
