SHILLONG: Assembly Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai on Saturday inaugurated the weeklong celebration of the Seng Samla Laban which is an annual affair and a popular event for the youths of the locality.
Speaking on the occasion, Shullai who is also the South Shillong legislator lauded the efforts of the Seng in striving to bring unity and a progressive mindset amongst the youths of Laban. The Deputy Assembly Speaker also assured that he would continue his support to the youth organisation of the area in its efforts to improve the living conditions of the people of the area as well as its efforts to encourage positive living amongst all youths cutting across caste, creed or economic background.
Laban Rangbah Shnong Edward Kharmawphlang exhorted the youths to strive harder to make the locality a shining example of unity amidst diversity.
This year’s celebration will include marathon, arm wrestling, fashion show, badminton, drawing, table tennis, cricket & above 35 cricket, fancy dress parade, football & above 35 football, penalty shoot out, basket ball, dancing and the signature rock concert on the closing day.
