Centre assures Arunachal of setting up Bamboo,cane museum

Itanagar:  The Centre has assured Arunachal Pradesh of setting up a world class state Bamboo and Cane Craft museum and Craft Haat in the state.
The project would have a bamboo museum, showroom for sales promotion and an exhibition area with capacity of 40 stalls for local artisans, official sources said today.
Development Commissioner (Handicraft) of the union textile ministry S S Gupta, informed this to a delegation of the Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resource and Development Agency (APBRDA) at New Delhi yesterday, the sources said.
The delegation was led by APBRDA chairman Tanyong Tatak and vice chairman Yora Tagung.
The ministry would also sponsor another project for establishment of Handicraft Training Centres in all 17 districts of the state.
The centres would provide training to artisans in every district and would lead for the development of the people of the state, the sources said. (PTI)
