SHILLONG: The CSWO has written to the Central Vigilance Commission against Chief Secretary WMS Pariat for his alleged silence on various scams in the State.
In a statement issued here, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing, while objecting to the extension of service of the Chief Secretary which created precedent, alleged that Pariat maintained perpetual silence over many scams.
“There is an officer who is capable of taking over as the new Chief Secretary and his chances should not be stopped,” Kharshiing said.
Commenting on the extension given to Pariat, Kharshiing said, “The State Government is scared on account of the various scams to be unearthed and this is the reason why it wants to give extension to the Chief Secretary who also kept mum on IAS officers being allotted land at Re 1 per sq ft”.
According to Kharshiing, Pariat was silent on the scams on CGI sheets, ICDS, education and land scam, and he held on to the jailbreak inquiry report for almost nine months.
He was also silent on the many adhoc appointments to the various posts in several departments.
“The CSWO has reported to the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi on the matter and will not allow such irregular procedures in Governance”, Kharshiing said.
