SS Khliehshnong, Diengpasoh win

Open Football C’ship

SHILLONG: Seng Samla Khliehshnong and Diengpasoh FC won their respective second round matches in the Meghalaya Open Football Championship, organised by the Bouncers Association of Meghalaya in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, at Malki Ground on Tuesday.

SS Khliehshnong beat Iaineh FC (Mawlai) 3-1 in the earlier match, thanks to goals from Timmy Ryngkhlem (28th and 53rd minutes) and Pyntngen Rymbai (48th). Macdonald Kharbuli (55th) scored one for Iaineh.

In the second match, two goals from Norasius Kharumnuid (30th and 68th minutes) were enough to separate Diengpasoh from Na Mynsiem (Nongkrem).

On Wednesday, Young Boys FC (Mairang) will play Umkdait Combine FC at 12 noon, while Treilang (Malki) take on Bahlung FC (Lumparing) in the 2 o’clock match.
