MSCW attends meeting of State Women’s Commission in Bhopal

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) participated in a special meeting of all the state women’s commissions including the Northeastern region organized by the National Women’s Commission at Bhopal recently.

Informing this here on Sunday, Chairperson of the MSCW, Theilin Phanbuh, said that a delegate from the State Women’s Commission attended the meeting and made a presentation on the issues relevant to the State.

“We recently attended a public hearing amongst the women at a market place called Moreh in Manipur bordering Myanmar, besides holding other important meetings,” Phanbuh said.

Phanbuh also informed that the MSCW had recently conducted an awareness camp at Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills District, with an aim to disseminate information amongst the masses on the various rights of a women besides encouraging them to come forward, in case, their rights are being questioned.
