Rape

On January 19 at around 4 pm, one Ku Lyngkhoi raped a woman (25) and threatened her with dire consequences at Kynjat Football, Lumparing.

A woman lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on January 14 at around 12.30 pm, one Dines Challam attempted to rape her minor daughter (4 years 6 months) in his residence at Tyrshang, West Jaintia Hills.

Theft cases

On January 20, unknown miscreants broke into a shop of Lawrence Jacob Shanpru at Dhankheti, Shillong and stole stocks of alcohol and cash.

On January 20, unknown miscreants stole a carton containing baby products valued around Rs. 15,000 belonging to Neekunj Poddar from Bara Bazar. In this connection, Police arrested one Rajesh Gurung and Samananda Dey and the stolen items were recovered from their possession.

On January 20, One Warjri (36) of Upper New Nongstoin lodged a complaint at Nongstoin police station that one Rosli Kharmaw of Klangrin village took away Rs. 60,000 and three truck loads of timber belonging to the complainant which were kept at Tlon village in West Khasi Hills.

One Fairland Kharkrang lodged a complaint at Umsning Outpost that on January 19 night, unknown miscreants stole cell-phones and other electronic goods valued around Rs. 1 lakh from his shop at Umsning Proper-B Market, Ri Bhoi.

On January 19, unknown miscreants stole one cell-phone from Smt. Aditi Samrabh Sachdeva at Police Bazar, Shillong.

One Gopal Sharma of Indian Premier Logistic lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on January 9, one truck (RJ-07GB-3601) belonging to the Company, loaded with 17 MT of cement, left Adhunik Cements Ltd., Thangskai in East Jaintia Hills for Kynshi BSC C&C. However, the truck has not reached its destination till date.

Impersonation

A woman of Nongmynsong, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that unknown persons opened a Facebook account in the name of her daughter and posted vulgar languages to malign their family status.

Arrest

On January 20 at around 10 am, Police arrested one Bangladeshi national, Likson Mia (26) from Anjalee Parking Lot for not possessing valid documents.

Assault

One Michael M Marak of Matchakolgre, Tura (WGH) lodged a complaint that on Jan 18 around 8.30 am, one Kaikam R Marak and his associates assaulted him.

Threat

One Kyrmen Ki Kam lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on January 18 at around 5.30 pm, one Dawanmi Dkhar (25) threatened him with dire consequences at Chutwakhu, Jowai in West Jaintia Hills. Police arrested the accused.

Wife deserts husband

One Ajoy Modak lodged a complaint at Tura police station that on September 28 last his wife Soma Modak fled along with gold ornaments valued around Rs.1,80,000. She was found living with one Tapas Modak at Stationpara, Dinhata, West Bengal and she was brought back to Tura. Again on January 14 this year she fled away taking her two-and-a half month old baby.
