NCP, KHNAM release fresh list of candidates

SHILLONG: The NCP and KHNAM on Monday released fresh lists of candidates for the upcoming district council elections scheduled on February 24.
The NCP announced the names of six candidates including State party president Sanbor Shullai (Laban-Mawprem), Wanjoplin Kharsyiemlieh (Mawkyrwat) and Meristella Wahlang (Laitumkhrah-Malki), all for the KHADC. The three NCP candidates for the JHADC election are Moina S Phyllut (Nartiang), Wantipsngi Rabon (Raliang) and Ojanris Rabon (Shilliang-Myntang).
KHNAM announced the names of seven candidates in its second list which include the names of two former MLAs – PT Sawkmie (Mawlai) and PM Syiem (Mawphlang-Diengiei).
KHNAM has also named two women candidates who were earlier denied tickets by the HSPDP – Christabel Wanniang and Probity Nongpluh from Umroi and Laitumkhrah-Mali constituencies respectively.
The other KHNAM candidates are Allowis Dohtdong (Mawkynrew) and Kodios Thongni (Jirang).
