SHILLONG: The Laitumkhrah Sports, Social & Cultural Club organized a musical evening on recently at Don Bosco Hall, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, to welcome the New Year. Local legislator, Ampareen Lyngdoh, who is also the chief patron of the Club, attended the function as the chief guest.

The evening witnessed performance by a number of popular bands including Strait Brothers, Cross Roads, 4th Element and the Cubicles. The opening act was a song by Michelle Dkhar, a young talented artiste, while DJ Gavian Lyngdoh enthralled the audience with his variety of songs to wrap up the evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Lyngdoh recalled that the Club has passed through a journey of many challenges, and reiterated that she has faith in the members of the Club and the people of Laitumkhrah to strive harder and to encourage the young talented boys and girls in the field of sports, social and cultural activities.

Malki-Laitumkhrah MDC, Antonio War, who is also the president of the Club, urged the people of Laitumkhrah to support the Club in its endeavour. On the occasion, War also handed over a work order of Rs 10 lakh from the MDC Scheme to the Headman of Laitumkhrah, Patrick Nongrum, for construction of the Dorbar Hall of the Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun.
