United XI reach Super Division semifinals

SHILLONG: Needing to win in order to qualify for the semifinals of the Super Division Cricket League, United XI did just that with a four-wicket victory over Malki CC in their Group B match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Tuesday.

Malki won the toss and chose to bat first, but were bowled out for a mere 136 in 38 overs. Erick Dkhar was their top-scorer with 29 runs. Jason Lamare took 2/20 in eight overs.

In reply, United XI reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 31.5 overs. Jeffery Wahlang put up 43 runs, while Proline took 2/28 in eight overs.

United XI thus secured 12 points from four Group B games, enough to secure a place in the last-four.
