UDP discusses strategy to ensure victory in Ri Bhoi

strengthen the prospects of its candidates in Ri Bhoi District ahead of the ensuing District Council polls, the United Democratic Party (UDP), Ri Bhoi District Unit on Tuesday held a review meeting at Iewmawlong, Nongpoh.

The meeting was attended by Ri Bhoi UDP president Donbok Khymdeit, the former MLA from Mawhati constituency, vice president Dwik Kharkongor, secretary JR Muktieh, UDP youth wing working president Rayonald Kharkamni, joint secretary FM Mawphniang, also the ex-MDC from Umroi Constituency and party auditor Gilbert Nongrum.

All the five party candidates from Ri Bhoi – Donkupar Sumer from Umsning, Rona Khymdeit from Nongpoh, Kior Sing Hinge from Umroi, Bialking Star Tmung from Mawhati and Balawan Syiemiong from Jirang – attended the meeting.

The UDP district president, while expressing his best wishes to the party candidates, highlighted the party’s strategy for the upcoming elections and stated that the ongoing wave was quite encouraging for the party and it was hopeful that all the party candidates would emerge victorious in the election slated on February 24.

“The party is striving hard to reach to every nook and corner of the five constituencies of the district to ensure that the party candidates get the maximum support from the people,” Donbok Khymdeit said, adding, “The party workers will be playing a crucial role in ensuring the victory of the UDP candidates in the election.”
