New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has nominated both the party MPs from Meghalaya — Vincent H Pala (Lok Sabha) and Mrs Wansuk Syiem (Rajya Sabha) — as members to the high profile campaign committee of the party for the coming Lok Sabha polls.
Mrs Gandhi herself will be heading the committee as Chairperson while Prime Minister aspirant Rahul Gandhi will be the co-chairman. Interestingly, there is none form the entire Northeastern region in the committee.
The committee has Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and union ministers A.K. Antony, Sushilkumar Shinde, P.Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kamal Nath, Oscar Fernandes, Jairam Ramesh, Anand Sharma among its members.
