Vasco: Bottom-placed Rangdajied United FC will be desperately looking for a morale boosting win when they take on Dempo SC in a I-League match to be played at the Tilak Stadium here on Saturday.
This would be a return match for Dempo SC.
Dempo who have drawn 2-2 against Rangdajied in the away match, are placed tenth with 16 points from 15 matches. They have strengthened their team with the inclusion of Sanju Pradhan and two foreigners – Tolgay Ozbeg and Haroon Amuri which will give more teeth to their striker force, which has been lacking in the first leg.
Dempo now will be playing with all their four foreigners, and coach Arthur Papas is confident that his team will do well in the second leg and move up the ladder.
“The composition of the team is well balanced especially in the striking force where we lacked in the finishing which saw us down below but now with Tolgay in the team, the finishing will be more sharper and we expect our team to win from now onwards after only three wins from 15 matches we have played so far,” stated Papas.
On the other hand, Rangdajied United were expecting a better performance against Churchill Brothers after they fielded all their four foreigners and also new recruits Steven Dias and Sushant Mathew but that was not the case as they went down 0-1 and are now at the bottom of the table with 12 points from 15 matches.
They now badly need a win to boost their morale and will be looking forward to their third win against Dempo on Saturday.
Going into the Dempo match, Santosh Kashyap will have all his armoury at his disposal. The backline will have Gouramangi Singh and Lamine Tamba in the centre with Yohei Iwasaki and Restomwell Khraim on either side.
The centre of the park will see captain Eugeneson Lyngdoh taking charge with the experience Tomba Singh or Alam Abocha making the start. Livewire of the left flank, David Ngaihte seems to be fit and is waiting for his return while the likes of Laldingngete and Ericson are also match ready.
The onus to score the goals however will go to the Brazilian, Edmar Figueira and North Korean, Kim Song Yong.
Playing at their home turf, Papas, however, will be at the helm of the affairs. (Agencies)
