JOWAI: West Jaintia Hills Police have served notices to all persons listed as ‘beneficiaries’ in connection with the alleged misappropriation of public funds by JHADC Chief Executive member MB Rymbai.

“Based on the list of names of beneficiaries mentioned in the RTI reports, we have served them a summon notice,” West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police Herbert G Lyngdoh said.

The beneficiaries, mostly from Khliehtyrshi, Sohmynting and Thangbuli villages, have been summoned to the police station so that their statements can be recorded as part of the investigation into the alleged scam in the JHADC.

Acting on the FIR filed by 11 persons from Sohmynting, Khliehtyrshi and Mupyut villages, police have begun their investigation and have already seized several official documents from the Finance Department of the JHADC.
