Dowry demand

A woman identified as Saraswati Devi lodged a complaint at Tura police station that her husband,  Radhey Shyam Prasad harassed her physically and mentally and also demanded a dowry of Rs 2 lakh

Shelter

On February  21 at around  11 am, one mentally unstable unidentified female, around 65 yrs, was found at Motphran, and  she was admitted at MIMHANS, Shillong.

Body found

On February 21 at around  8 pm, residents of Bolsrong Kamagittim village under Bajengdoba police station in North Garo Hills recovered two unidentified bodies with injuries from the village. Later, one of the bodies was identified as that of one Silseng Sangma (25) of Muamari, Bajengdobain North Garo Hills.

Arrest

On February 21 around 2:30 am, one Kheinlang Dkhar attacked his wife, Dapline Kyndait with a knife at Iongkaluh village (EJH). Victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to a hospital. Police arrested the accused and investigation is on.

Assault

A woman identified as  Maniulma Kali lodged a complaint at Mahendraganj police station that on February  18 at around  5.30 pm, one Md. Manju Alam Sheikh and his son aged (16) entered into her house at Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills and assaulted her causing injuries to her.

Cattle stolen

On February 21 at around 9 am, unknown miscreants stole two heads of cattle belonging to Ksohlang Self Help Group from Ialong village in West Jaintia Hills.

Rape cases

On February 20 one Wanborlang Wahlang (21) raped a fourteen-year-old girl inside a local taxi (ML-06-6019) at Khliehmawlieh village (WKH).

On February 14 at around 6 pm, one Larking Warjri (28) raped one eighteen-year-old girl at Domtongram Weimynstep village (WKH).

Body floating in coal mine 

On February  20, one highly decomposed unidentified male body was found floating inside a coal mine at Synrangbehding, East Jaintia Hills.

Theft cases

  • A woman identified as Dear A Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura police station that on February 18, three unidentified miscreants entered her house at Anogre village in West Garo Hills and looted one licensed SBML gun (L/No. 9058/GH).
  • On the nights of February 15 and 17, unknown miscreants stole construction materials belonging to M/s BSC C&C JV company from Mawlong and Sangshong villages in West Khasi Hills.
  • On February  17 at around  6 am, unknown miscreants stole condemned tyres valued around Rs. 5,000 from the quarter of a woman identified as  Evalinda Pakma at Soil and  Water Conservation, Thadlaskein in West Jaintia Hills.

Murder

On February  17 at around 11.30 pm, one Dimus Dkhar murdered  Deidawanbiang Dkhar (27 ) at Lapangap village in  West Jaintia Hill). The accused has been arrested.

Threat case

Kamal Jain lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that on February 17 at around 11.30 pm, one Vicky Kharbuli (29) assaulted and threatened him with dire consequences at Lapalang, Shillong. Again on February 18 at about 8.20 am, the accused attempted to steal his LPG cylinder.
